Snacks, Chocolate, Candy and Kids

When it comes to food, it would be tough to find a kid who doesn't like chocolate and candy. The good news is that chocolate and candy in moderation can fit into a nutritionally balanced diet -- and provide a good way to teach good eating habits.

The brochure was developed by the Chocolate Manufacturers Association and National Confectioners Association to provide parents with snack time tips. The brochure includes plenty of suggestions to help parents manage snack time better. Topics covered include:

  • How to teach kids to snack and eat sensibly.
  • The importance of daily dental hygiene.
  • Tips to manage the finicky young eater.
  • How sweet snacks can fit into a nutritionally balance diet.

The brochure has been reviewed by Keith-Thomas Ayoob, Ed.D, R.D., Director of Nutrition Services at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
